The All We Can Save (AWCS) Book Group is an opportunity for teachers who have previously participated in a Climate Justice League (CJL) professional learning community to deepen their understanding and practices related to climate justice education. In the CJL, teachers explored how social justice concerns are related to climate change and practiced facilitating a climate justice learning activity with their students. They also connected with other teachers in their region and across the state to support their growth as justice-centered educators.

Where
In this AWCS Book Group, we plan to build on the CJL experience by cultivating a space for educators to extend their personal learning, build community with like-minded colleagues, and gather additional ideas for strengthening their practice. Over the course of four one-hour sessions, teachers will read, discuss, and engage in activities centered around selections from the All We Can Save: Truth, Courage, and Solutions for the Climate Crisis anthology edited by Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson and Dr. Katharine Wilkinson. The structure of these sessions will be adapted from the open-access Circles facilitation guide provided by the All We Can Save team.
