Participants will have a chance to authentically engage with activities and experts as they grow their understanding how climate change has and will impact their community. Analyze and interpret recent climate science data with Dr. Kat Huybers, a climate scientist and lecturer from the University of Washington and progress understanding on the most salient climate change indicators in Eastern Washington.

Additionally, teachers will explore the impacts of invasive species and how these species are indicative of regional climate change impacts. Teachers will leave with tangible ways to address invasive species along with an increased preparedness to leverage a local species or climate change impact in their classroom to spur action in their community.

ESD 123 and ESD 105 Teachers only are eligible to  receive a small stipend from EarthGen upon completion of the entire 6 hour STEM Seminar experience.
