Dear EarthGen Community,
We’re pleased to announce that Nayiri Haroutunian has been appointed EarthGen’s Executive Director, ushering in an exciting new chapter for our organization.
For more than a decade, Nayiri has grown alongside EarthGen, helping shape the organization through strategic leadership, lasting partnerships, and a commitment to young people, educators, and communities across Washington. Her experience spans nearly every part of the organization, giving her a unique perspective on where EarthGen has been and where it is headed.
As she reflects on her journey with the organization, Nayiri puts it simply: “EarthGen has been my classroom, my community, and my calling.”

Looking ahead, Nayiri is energized to build on EarthGen’s strong foundation and expand our impact across Washington.
We also want to express our gratitude to Heena Khatri for her leadership and dedication during her time as Acting Executive Director. Her guidance during this transition helped position the organization for this moment. As Nayiri steps into the Executive Director role, Heena will return to serving on EarthGen’s Board.
