EarthGen Awarded Two-Year Sustained Support Grant from 4Culture

EarthGen partners with young people, and the educators and families that support them, to build the knowledge and skills needed to spark and sustain local environmental action. In support of this work, EarthGen has been awarded a two-year Sustained Support grant totaling $213,556 from 4Culture to support the organization’s work across King County.

This funding is made possible through the passage of Doors Open legislation and continued Lodging Tax revenue, which have allowed 4Culture to expand its Sustained Support program across King County.

EarthGen was one of 117 organizations reviewed by peer panels across the disciplines of Arts, Heritage, Historic Preservation, and Science & Technology. In total, $6,450,594 in Sustained Support general operating funds were awarded for the 2026–2028 funding cycle, with awards calculated based on organizational budget size, geographic location, and panel review scores.

“I am delighted and thankful that 4Culture values our work to develop the next generation of youth climate leaders,” said Andy Shouse, EarthGen Executive Director.

While this funding supports work in King County, EarthGen collaborates with partners across Washington to connect learning with real-world environmental challenges, partnering with schools, communities, and local organizations. This two-year award will support the continued delivery and growth of programs that help young people take meaningful action in their own communities.
