Most kids don’t equate summer school with summer fun. But thanks to EarthGen’s environmental learning programs, summer school was a highlight of the summer for students at a dozen schools all across Washington.
More than fifty teachers implemented EarthGen’s Zombie Guacamole, Breathing Easier, and Monarch Mystery environmental learning units with their summer classrooms this year. Available in both English and Spanish, these hands-on, project-based science units capture kids’ attention and keep them engaged in learning. Tukwila School District science teacher Caleb Offield first implemented Zombie Guacamole and Breathing Easier with his summer school students this year. “They hardly needed me to facilitate discussions because they were generating their own ideas. They enjoyed summer school and that is no small feat.”
