Ways to Take Action this Earth Month

Earth Month is here. It’s a chance to pause, take stock, and consider how we show up for our communities and the environment.

At EarthGen, we see young people and the educators and families who support them leading climate action every day. This month, we’re inviting you to take part alongside them in ways that are simple, thoughtful, and grounded in connection.

Read to deepen your understanding

Choose a book, article, or story that helps you better understand the changing climate and the people most impacted. All We Can Save: Truth, Courage, and Solutions for the Climate Crisis and Metamorphosis: Climate Fiction for a Better Future are two places to start.

Talk with a young person in your life

Ask how they’re feeling about environmental issues and what they’re noticing in their own community. What feels hopeful? What feels hard? Creating space for honest conversation, without trying to solve everything, can help build connection and trust.

Spend time outside, on purpose

Take a walk, visit a local park, or spend a few extra minutes noticing what’s growing and changing around you. Pay attention to the details such as sounds, seasons, and small shifts. Connection to place helps ground environmental action in something real and close to home.

Celebrate youth climate leadership with us

Support EarthGen’s work

We are close to our $500,000 Earth Month goal, with $420,000 already raised. With your help, we are working to raise the final $80,000 by Earth Day, April 22. Your support sustains student-led environmental action across Washington. Make your gift today
