We are pleased to welcome Heena Khatri as EarthGen’s Acting Executive Director. With more than 20 years of leadership experience across finance, environmental education, and community advocacy, she brings a wealth of expertise and a deep commitment to this role.

Throughout her career, Heena has been a dedicated advocate for equity and student leadership. From her work as a naturalist with the Seattle Aquarium to her board leadership supporting immigrant families and youth services, she has consistently focused on improving outcomes for Washington’s most vulnerable communities. Her strategic approach and history of building community capacity align perfectly with EarthGen’s mission to cultivate environmental leaders.

Stepping into this role after serving on EarthGen’s Board of Directors, Heena provides vital continuity. Our focus remains steady: supporting students across Washington as they explore climate science and take meaningful action. We are also grateful to Andy Shouse for his leadership in helping shape EarthGen’s direction during this transition.

“Heena’s experience across strategic finance and mission-driven advocacy will help strengthen our programs and deepen our impact,” said Board Co-Chair David D’Souza. “We are excited to have her build on the momentum underway at EarthGen.”

“I am especially looking forward to seeing our first cohort of Climate Leadership Fellows graduate,” said Heena. “EarthGen will continue to center youth voices and support students as they take action in ways that matter to them.”

Please join us in welcoming Heena to the EarthGen team.
