Extended Deadline – Green Medalist Nominations

EarthGen supports and recognizes individuals and organizations that are striving to be leaders for a healthy environment within school communities. Through EarthGen’s programs, young people gain the knowledge, skills, and experience they need to think critically, act with purpose, and bring others together to solve the environmental challenges we face.

Each year, EarthGen recognizes exemplary individuals or groups as Green Medalists. Green Medalists can be nominated by members of their community for their demonstrated leadership in the following areas:

  • Leadership in organizing and taking action to advance sustainability within their school community;
  • Equity and Inclusion by focusing their efforts on issues relevant to their local community and emphasizing issues of environmental justice;
  • Resilience through demonstrating perseverance in the face of obstacles and setbacks.

To nominate a Green Medalist, please fill out the nomination form by the end of April. All nominations will be posted on the EarthGen website the following week and awardees will be announced in early May 2021.

Awardees will receive a medal, EarthGen t-shirt, and a video of recognition. In addition, EarthGen will feature a profile of the awardees on the EarthGen website and a press release will be drafted for distribution in the local press.
